How we make money
The short version is the disclosure you'll see next to every quote button on this site:
How this works: every listing's ZIP, license number and status come straight off a state licensing agency's file, not a form a business filled in, and paying us doesn't move a business into a better ZIP slot. The quote button is separate from all of that, handled entirely by our matching partners, and a fee to us from that partner only happens if you actually use it to request quotes.
There's no charge to search by ZIP, read a guide, or look up a license number using the links on this site. The one paid relationship here runs through the quote button, operated by partners in our matching network.
A partner pays us only after someone clicks that button and requests quotes through it. That has nothing to do with which ZIP a business is grouped under or how close to the top of a list it appears.
The quote button
Pages with listings also carry a quote button. It opens a quote request run by our matching partners, not by the businesses listed on the page. When you ask for quotes through it, a partner may pay us. That is how we pay for running this site.
The partner decides which companies to match you with, so the companies that contact you may not be the ones listed on the page you came from. Before you hire anyone, check their license the same way you would check a listed business.
What it costs you
Using Window Contractors Near Me costs homeowners nothing. You don't pay us for listings, lookups or quote requests.
What money doesn't change
- Listings come from state license records. No business pays to be listed, to be left off, or for its position.
- Listings on each city page are sorted alphabetically.
- There are no paid placements today. If we add any, they will be marked Sponsored.
- Verify license links go only to the state's license registry, never to a partner.
How to tell the links apart
Quote buttons always sit in a box with the disclosure above, and they are marked as sponsored links in the page code (rel="sponsored"). Every other outbound link on the site goes to an official license record or to a source we cite.
